UNS C63000 (AMS 4640)
UNS C63000 is a high-strength nickel aluminium bronze alloy providing outstanding corrosion resistance.
Including nickel in the alloying process strengthens the material without reducing toughness, ductility or corrosion resistance. UNS C63000 offers improved corrosion resistance in marine environments and better malleability than BS B23. The alloy also provides excellent abrasion, shock and wear resistance. Our product is ideal for subsea and above-sea applications and also finds extensive use in aerospace and naval sectors.

UNS C63000 retains its mechanical properties at elevated temperatures. The product also offers high-strength hardness, good toughness and fatigue strength and excellent wear, abrasion and shock resistance. The alloy finds typical use in marine applications along with the production of bushes and bearings.
The alloy provides excellent corrosion resistance in saltwater environments. It is, therefore, highly suitable for marine applications including piping and propulsion systems, marine fixtures and fittings. Good corrosion resistance is also possible in dilute hydrochloric, sulphuric and non-oxidising acids.
The material provides good machinability, good hot formability and good weldability. Oxyacetylene welding and soldering are not recommended. C63000 aluminium bronze is non-sparking, making it ideal for explosive environments.
