C103 Copper (CW008A)

Offering outstanding thermal conductivity and high electrical conductivity, C103 (CW1008A) copper is not susceptible to hydrogen embrittlement when heated in a reduced atmosphere.

C103 copper has the highest electrical conductivity of any commercially pure copper on the market (greater than 100% IACS). The alloy offers dimensional stability in hydrogen atmospheres which could feature in specific engineering applications. C103 also provides excellent joining capabilities.

Benefits:

Typical commercial applications include:

  • Outstanding thermal conductivity
  • Excellent electrical conductivity
  • Excellent formability
  • Highest electrical conductivity (commercially pure)
Suitability

C103 finds suitability in commercial applications requiring good electrical conductivity and weldability. Like most copper alloys, our product has excellent joining capabilities. Our material is often referred to as Cu-HCP, which means high conductivity copper alloy. Electronics is an obvious candidate for suitability due to the material's characteristics.

Classification

C103 is a commercially pure copper alloy grade, which means that the copper content is a minimum of 99.5%. A unique production process produces the alloy to ensure that the resulting product is oxygen-free, providing the highest levels of electrical conductivity possible.

Commercial Applications

Electronic instruments, large generators, rotor conductors, switchgear, vacuum engineering, transformers and motors
