Stockholders was established in 1983 to serve the needs of engineering
companies (and all users of engineering materials) in the South East of
England. Over time we have built up a wide product range of metals and
plastics as well as a reputation for excellent service and next-day
delivery.
Our
product range extends over all non-ferrous metals, alloy & stainless
steels and now engineering plastics. We aim to give our customers as
wide a choice as possible when it comes to alloys, shapes and sizes but
not at the expense of speed of response. All of the products in our
ex-stock product range are usually available on a next day service.

Our
stockholding facility in Enfield houses one of the largest quantities on
stock in the South East. This includes many hard to find alloys and
sizes of metal and plastic in both metric and imperial dimensions. Our
aim is to always have the next customer request in stock no matter how
unusual so we have always invested heavily in our stock range and
continue to do so.
We also
offer a range of cutting and processing services to allow our customers
to have the most efficient starting raw materials for their
manufacturing operations. Further investment in modern processing
equipment means we always cut to close tolerances and can handle bespoke
customer requests. All of this is covered by our ISO9001:2000
accreditation so you know you’ll be getting the highest standards time
after time.
Today
Thames is also an independent part of the Smiths Metal Centres group.
This gives us access to what is generally accepted to be the widest
range of non-ferrous metals, alloy & stainless steels and engineering
plastics in Europe. Our direct connection into this stock range means we
have further increased our product availability. However, we remain
focused on what has made us successful since we began – a dedicated
local service, fast response and a genuine care for every single enquiry
we get.
